Diploma project done at the school of applied arts of La Chaux-de-fonds: Trash index is a digital platform designed to raise public awareness of the issue of waste and, more broadly, over-consumption in Switzerland.

Based on the observation that waste reflects human activity as well as our society's consumption patterns, this project is positioned between a tool and an artistic project. A link between the concrete problem of waste, and the emotions it arouses; the words it whispers to us.

Under the guise of a simple tool, trash index transforms itself over the course of the user's experience into a modern fable, painting an acerbic portrait of our society. A bestiary in which the animals and other mystical creatures of yesteryear have been replaced by waste, where religious morality is supplanted by economics, profitability, sales and mass consumption.
